In 1953 Yale students were asked if they had set themselves goals, only a tiny percentage of those asked had set their goals for themselves and only 3% had written those goals down. Twenty years later those same graduates were assessed to see how well they had progressed. Those who had set written goals for themselves were found to be healthier, happier and wealthier than the remaining 75% put together.
